Hip Hop is a cultural movement rooted in the music and dance practices of African American and Latino communities. It is shaped by various freestyle expressions and vernacular dances that emerged alongside underground music, including rap and turntablism, across different regions and generations.
This class explores dances that have emerged from the groove and bouncy rhythm of its music. Through pattern recognition exercises, combinations, and movement exploration, dancers are invited to develop their own interpretations and discover how the form continues to grow through individual and social expression.
